there is another film (47 mins) by these guys called "Call of Cthulhu" that i haven't watched yet but it gets good comments. Hopefully the HPL society will continue making films ( with more money) since they seem to be the only people who care about the material.
Cthulhu prefers that to "The Whisper in Darkness", for obvious reasons.
Cthulhu honestly though, thinks both movies are excellent adaptations of Lovecraft's stories.
Cthulhu wouldn't mind however, an "apocalyptic" film concerning:
- The "stars being right"
- Nyarlathotep and how he causes R'lyeh to arise from the oceans
- Parts of humanity becoming enlightened and thus, entering into acts of killing and spontaniously mutating into servants to the Great Old Ones.
- The Great Old Ones arising from their slumber and comencing an all out feast on the remainder of humanity
- The terraformation of Earth into an aberration of its former self
- Cockroaches, aforementioned mutated organisms and of course, cephalopods becoming the dominant species on the planet (after mutating into much larger, more beetle-like organisms)
- Cthulhu himself finally leaving this accursed planet and continuing his plight against the Elder Things
- Any supposedly remaining humans becoming subjected to eternal misery at the hands of Nyarlathotep
The grand message of the film would be... well, something akin to the insignificance of humanity in the grand scheme of Azathoth's nonsensical designs.
Cthulhu sadly, doesn't think this would make for a serious (or plausibly producible) movie due to its lack of likable main characters, lack of any character development and utterly cynical message.
