Evoker gear help
« on: October 24, 2011, 05:44:27 AM »
Hi folks!

Regarding to what some of you already recommended i was power-lvling in SH nearly all my playtime. I proceed to lvl 41+ now in a few hours after i stopped questing at Templarbase. I did some of legendary rewarding quest, but i am still way before Abbandon i think (am i? ;-)  ). There was an advice to do the quests in hell later on for better drops (true or not?). Rewards from quests won't have better quality, do they? Though constant disconnects tried to stop me from using marketplace, i was lucky to purchase some legendary armor with good stats for my actual lvl, and i spent like 150-200k pal for 5 pieces alltogether. I crafted two Forbidden Cores and upgraded them +3, but no augs yet.

Whats the best wayy to go on? Lvling SH till 50/20 and then do questline on hellmode? Update gear from Marketplace? I'm heading for the Acc/Crit Build, standard talents (DS, FS, HF & AS + SC i think), i chose gear with +AA, +ACC/STAM/WP/STR, -Powercosts, -Cooldown, +Powerregen. When is the best time to farm those bosses where better drops occure?  At which lvl am i supposed to change gear because lvl-difference is to high? How exactly should my Foci be modded (+2% cc and augs on weapon with +ccm & +cdm? +ccm vs X better? What exactly is +x% firedmg eg good for in a crit build?)? Is shield pen still a wothy stat and whats the best way to get it?

Sry for beeing noob, pls help me to become pro ^^

With best regards,
Kelestra

--> Yes

 There was an advice to do the quests in hell later on for better drops (true or not?). Rewards from quests won't have better quality, do they?
--> No, they are random and mostly useless. At higher levels some can be "made better", but its time consuming and you dont really need it. There is a better chance on hell mode for some items like balbis. But you can repeat any map on hell whenever you want.

--> Good

Whats the best wayy to go on? Lvling SH till 50/20 and then do questline on hellmode?
--> You can do this, its pretty easy with that level. I tryed it on one of three chars but didnt drop anything. Guess its pure luck...

Update gear from Marketplace?
--> Waste of nanos, save them for endgear, Morax, or maybe Killing Fields. +3 on gear that you only need some levels is fine.

I'm heading for the Acc/Crit Build, standard talents (DS, FS, HF & AS + SC i think), i chose gear with +AA, +ACC/STAM/WP/STR, -Powercosts, -Cooldown, +Powerregen.
--> OK

When is the best time to farm those bosses where better drops occure?
--> All bosses with good loot "require" level 55 for best survivability and damage.

At which lvl am i supposed to change gear because lvl-difference is to high?
--> i think 55 R 15+ is good point to respec stats and change gear.  If you make money easy, you can do it whenever you want. Attribute retrainer cost about 800k... not too much. Doing all side quests before that would be good for max stat points.

How exactly should my Foci be modded (+2% cc and augs on weapon with +ccm & +cdm? +ccm vs X better?
--> +x% crit / +5x % crit multi / crit damage against caste. This works best on bosses, espescially if you focus on one caste in two foci. One set moloch/demon, next set beast/natan, maybe third for occulis/spectral, maybe third for cowroom/necros. For leveling in catacoms, some extra damage, stun and ignite are a better choise, so another set? kind of expensive...

What exactly is +x% firedmg eg good for in a crit build?)?
--> to add firedamage. Damage fits in every build...

Is shield pen still a wothy stat and whats the best way to get it?
--> I would say so. You get a fine ring with 15%, you may find some zirkonium armor with +10%. 1% is enough to imply second effects to monsters (stun, phase, ignite...).

Sry for beeing noob, pls help me to become pro ^^
--> Hope that helps...

Once the rule was: love it or leave it. 100% or nothing. So its viable with 20-40%?

I recommend just not to stand at 0% shield penetration. i am at 30% ish and it s really helpfull in a lot of situation. I have the feeling it helps me to improve my overall killing speed.

What i had in mind was to buy new stuff that matches my actual lvl. Becaue 24/7 "SH 1st Room xp rush no loot" means no loot. I think i gonna do it this way, bought a veiled thread for 13k Palla and there is no stat on item thats waste for evo (+aa, +stam, +will, -cd, -costs ... and so on). But relics are freaking expensive in comparison to other loot...

Hi.

About shield pen. again. It costs lots of strength, so 100% will be hard to wear.

I thought you wanted to upgrade the gear you took for leveling. Upgrading endgear like morax etx is surely recommended, if your frustration level is high enough (= If not, better try to save pala and buy +6 gear from other players.

The items for nanoforge dont give you a better chance of success. They only prevent the item you want to upgrade from falling back in level (before you hit +6) or from breaking (over +6) when you fail. I never bought them myself and i never will do it. Its expensive, but if you really want to go above +6 yourself and dont use cheatshop, you will lose your weapon when you fail.

Reached Lvl 50/3 yesterday. So far every single advice was helpfull, again ty all.

So the plan is to proceed lvling in SH 1st Room till 50/20, then switch back to xp-> lvl and grind till 55/20 in the same location. Is it recommendable to grind catas from 50-55? Together with xp-Boost/autodismantler there will be lots of loot, does it? So far i am at 70 Nanos and roughly 750k Palla, not much at all.

As i started ranking yesterday, which are the best ranks to go? Theres a guide which recommends:

Quote
With an Accuracy based build, I would take Crit, Power Regen (perhaps regen first), Damage, X.

Do you agree?

Update gear from marketplace to Match current lvl: The plan is to get some got "Slayers from another world" für lvling and farming till Morax/glyphs are in reach. Rest is from lvl 41 to 45 Legendaries, that should be good enough i think?

Is it worth to start modding with +crit, +ccm and +cdm? Or wait till Morax/cage to go for full crit?

When you plan on reaching highest rank in notime, then you better stay at level 50 and do the 1room grind for some weeks. You wont get anything else but XP, but theres no better way to do it that fast.

With level 55 its imho best to grind cata 11-15 on nightmare, what you said, loot and xp and you "play" the game. You will need more time for ranks this way. SH stops scaling at level 50, so with level 52 you will have a malus on xp here.

Doing the quests would give you additional stat points and pala.

With ranks i agree. You plan on crit build, so maxing crit perk would be first choice (rank10) and maxing power regeneration (rank20) was my next choice, because the evo needs a lot of energie. And while you put points into accuracy you will lack a lot of willpower.

After that, armor or damage... i prefer armor before damage, cause the difference is not too big with 10% or something like that.

Level 50 Focus Killing Fields are good for harrow deep farm. If you didnt max your hellfire, they will add points. The Slayers are ok, too, i guess but beast spec?

I recently changed my build from pure dmg to crit build and here s some of my thoughts:

-Crit became viable for me above 55/60% crit chance i think. It s a lot of work / pala to gather all the crit stuff and i really think i improved my DPS when i reached 60% crit. You have to take care to crit dmg AND the damage of your weapons !! I think if foci don t have enough add dmg on it, crit won t do the work.

-If you plan to level "only" to rank 20, you ll have to wear some +AA/will/acc gear, or to be VERY lucky and aug the set pieces you want with +stats. I currently wear full set except belt+head ( nothing can beat veiled and balbis for me :) ) to get the max crit chance possible. I only have the pant wich is not clean ( +6 AA, bought it 10M >< ) And i think i ll NEVER try to aug my shoulder or chest as i m never lucky with the augmentrex.
All this to say that i m rank 44 with 2 decent glyphs andi m still not able to wear the mods i want because of feeds. I obviously have BK/necklace/bracer with +AA, +6 AA set pant and +8AA/10 will veiled threat and all the reset is clean.
Crit build is easier than full ele dmg build maybe because of the lower feed of relics. ( around 15/16 points for a +3/4% ele dmg +2% crit relics) and more than 40 points for a 17+% ele dmg. But maybe harder to be effective with crit build before a certain point.

I stand at 72% crit chance without any CCM and each hellfire make mobs look like a christmas tree ^^. I stay with 5 feed expensive set pieces to make some test, but maybe cheap stuff with +stat will be better as i ll be able to put better mods and all my free stat point into acc.

EDIT : for expertises, i choose : crit,dmg, power regen, max hp and i m finishing by armor.
